Jon Diebler from Ohio State Wins StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week - March 7th, 2011

With a solid performance that included going up against the #10 team in the nation, Jon Diebler, a 6-6 senior from Ohio State, is the StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. StatSheet's NCAA Freshman of the Week is Texas's Tristan Thompson and Princeton's Kareem Maddox is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week.

Diebler led all of the NCAA in three pointers (8.5 per game). He also put up an impressive 28.5 points per game, 80% shooting, and 4.5 assists per game, leading the Buckeyes to wins against Penn State and 10th ranked Wisconsin.

Diebler led all scoring for the Buckeyes with 30 points on 83% shooting. in a big 82-61 win against Penn State. He then led the team in scoring with 27 points on 80% shooting in a huge 93-65 victory over Wisconsin.

This is the first StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week award for Jon Diebler. The runner-up this week is Notre Dame senior Ben Hansbrough. Honorable mention goes to West Virginia junior Kevin Jones.

StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: Texas's Tristan Thompson

Tristan Thompson played an average of 36 minutes starting both games for the Longhorns. In a 75-70 loss to Kansas State, Thompson led scoring and rebounding with 26 and 10, respectively. In a 60-54 win over Baylor, he led scoring and rebounding with 19 and 13.

This is a first for Thompson, who has never won the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week award. The runner-up is Jared Sullinger from Ohio State. Terrence Jones from Kentucky takes honorable mention.

StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Princeton's Kareem Maddox

Senior Kareem Maddox averaged 30 minutes over two games for the Tigers. In a big 77-55 win over Dartmouth, Maddox chalked up 12 points and 6 assists. Then in a 79-67 loss to Harvard, he led all rebounding with 6 and added 50% shooting.

This is the first time this season Maddox has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award. Alex Marcotullio, a sophomore guard from Northwestern, is runner-up. Davide Curletti, a junior forward from Northwestern, wins honorable mention.
